Science 6

The students learned the definition of map view (aka plan view)  -- "map drawn as if you were looking down on an area from above the  Earth's surface." In class we  began drawing the plan view  for their respective bedroom.  The view in  their room would be as if a camera was looking down from their ceiling. Students should measure the length and width of their room and any furniture dimensions.  They can "measure" using a measuring devise (ruler, etc) or by their pace.  Nothing exact -- estimates are fine :-). We'll discuss scale in class.
